Environmental Advantages

ALL fossil fuels are removed from the earth. They all contain carbon, which, as you know, contributes to climate change when in the atmosphere. Fossil fuels, when burned, release this “sequestered” carbon into the air. A carbon level increase.

On the other hand, burning corn results in a net reduction of carbon in the atmosphere. How? We all learned in grade school science that plants perform photosynthesis. Plants, whether the largest tree or the smallest plankton in the sea, take in CO2 and release Oxygen into the air. Corn, being a plant, takes in CO2 and releases Oxygen which we breathe. We, again as we learned in grade school science, release CO2 which the plants again use for photosynthesis. It is estimated that to produce an acre of corn, 8,465 pounds of carbon are required. The amount of CO2 absorbed (“sequestered”) by the acre of plants is estimated to be 31,075 pounds. A-maize-ing.

Corn for burning requires no processing. Use it just as Mother Nature provided.

Should an oil tanker/truck have a spill how many agencies are called? How many reports are filed, actions taken, and concerns still exist? If a coal sludge slide occurs, again what agencies are first on the scene? The EPA for certain and possibly more for the above.

Should corn be spilled, is there any danger to the environment? No EPA or other environmental agencies are called. Does it make the local news? The result is a large amount of bird food suddenly becomes available.
